This is a unique luxury serviced one-bedroom apartment in a historic building quietly situated yet one minute from Princes Street. It has a stunning 28-foot bow-ended drawing room, a fully equipped kitchen, daily maid service and breakfast provided.
10 Glenfinlas Street was recently restored by the Dickson family as their residence. It is protected by a 'category A' building classification, the highest grade of protection by Historic Scotland. The decoration and furnishings are to the highest standard to ensure you have an unforgettable stay. Daily lets are available.
The apartment is on the ground floor of the house and is completely self contained though should you wish, the Dickson's are nearby to help with your itinery and advice or information you may need. It has all the benefits of a hotel suite with much more freedom.
The accommodation is arranged as follows: The entrance hall opens onto the drawing room, with double windows facing the street and the rear gardens of Charlotte Square. This room is 8.5 meters (28 feet) long with a bow end, wood panelling, working shutters and a black marble fireplace with an open gas fire. The furnishing is a mixture of antique and modern with two huge leather sofas (one converts to a double bed), a desk / work area with a wealth of information for your stay, TV, video and hifi. Original oil paintings, fresh flowers and plants add a finishing touch.
A concealed door leads to the inner hall. The bedroom, situated at the back of the building has a super king sized bed, which can be converted to two single beds (please give your preference when booking). Bedding is pure cotton, for your comfort. Ample storage space is provided by the carved antique wardrobe and drawer unit. A cot / crib is available on request. The bathroom has the usual facilities, bathtub and over bath shower, with toiletries provided.
The kitchen is equipped with electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, ironing facilities and a pay phone. The complimentary fruit, beverages and breakfast ingredients are restocked daily. You can dine at the window overlooking the rear garden. There is also a utility room with washer/dryer. The apartment has central heating and is protected by entry phone, fire and security systems. The accommodation is non-smoking.
Glenfinlas Street is centrally located as a quiet closed road off Charlotte Square in Edinburgh's historic centre. Princes Street and George Street with their shopping and restaurants are a one minute walk away. The Castle, Medieval Old Town and most galleries and museums are within easy walking distance. Alternatively you can pick up a guided bus tour nearby. The National Trust for Scotland's Georgian House and headquarters are just round the corner on Charlotte Square, where the central gardens host the Book Festival every year. The official residence of the First Minister of Scotland is also on Charlotte Square. For business visitors, we are in the financial sector with the Edinburgh International Conference Centre just 10 minutes walk away.
