Four Hill Street is a Grade A listed Georgian townhouse dating from the mid-1790's which has been refurbished as a boutique bed and breakfast in period style.
Ideally situated just a minute's walk from George Street, we offer our guests the experience of living in Georgian surroundings, but with all the luxuries and conveniences of the 21st century.

Hosts Stewart and Charlotte Robertson will be on hand to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable and to offer advice on where to go and what to see in the beautiful city of Edinburgh. We are ten minutes walk or a short hop by taxi from Waverley Station and are two minutes walk away from the numerous buses which run along Princes Street.
From the hustle and bustle of the city centre, Four Hill Street offers a calm retreat to the elegance of a bygone age. Our five bedrooms are individually furnished to how they might have appeared at the turn of the 18th/19th centuries. With original fireplaces and working shutters at the windows, original floors and stone staircase, Four Hill Street has retained its wonderful 18th century features and proportions. Our twin bedroom even features a kitchen range which was discovered when a false wall was removed.
Our four double rooms feature king-size beds and all five bedrooms are sumptuously furnished and are provided with Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels. Digital television, broadband connections and telephones are available in all rooms along with a hospitality tray featuring delicious shortbread and chocolates. All rooms have luxuriously designed en suite shower rooms and complimentary Arran Aromatics toiletries.
Whether you are in Edinburgh on a short break, longer holiday or for business, Four Hill Street offers a unique opportunity to live in a historic house in the World Heritage Site of the New Town. Enjoy relaxing in the elegant drawing room, perhaps enjoying one of the books about Edinburgh and Scotland which are provided. Indulge yourself with the full Scottish breakfast which will be freshly prepared by your hosts. From the house, enjoy a short stroll to one of the excellent restaurants minutes away or browse in the upmarket shops nearby on George Street. Four Hill Street is a short walk away from the National Gallery of Scotland, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and The Georgian House, while the Old Town can by reached in 15 minutes on foot or a few minutes by bus. Delightful walks can be had nearby along the Water of Leith, and the Botanic Gardens are also an easy walk down the hill.
