Troon

This round shop in Edinburgh's New Town houses a unique and eclectic mix of designer clothing and accessories for all ages, sizes and budgets.
It can be a noisy old business, Spring, and this one in particular!
This year, it is not just the song thrush belting out at dawn but in Edinburgh the deafening construction of “trams” for which also the immediate downside is, for the time being, the loss of our disabled parking facility. But in the face of this, beautiful new Spring collections arrive, one after the other, like enormous bouquets of
favorite flowers and spirits soar.
Our round shop in Edinburgh New Town and our period piece on King’s Parade in Cambridge continue to house a unique and eclectic mix of carefully sourced designer clothing and accessories for all ages, sizes and budgets. We focus still on collections in which the cloth, also, has been produced by the individual designers or their
stable.
Where to start? Well, we could start by welcoming back Transit, this seasons cover. We missed you! This range is really “cool”. The casual and sensual pieces are produced in innovative fabrics which
belie a variety of very sophisticated manufacturing processes. Great stuff!
Marimekko from Finland is on a “wowing” theme. It is hard to miss and very exciting! Bitte Kai Rand, our bestest from Denmark, carefully combines soft subtle structure and feminine folds in pebbley colours. This collection is quiet and very individual. Nygårdsanna, in the finest cotton batiste is discreet and pretty; the styles rooted in Swedish traditional but with a modern bent, natural and timeless.
Ghulam Sakina is as always beautifully hand crafted, truly artful and in gorgeous colours. Sabu from Japan is a range of jacquard silks and linens; quite otherworldly and covetable.
La Bottega di Brunella in summer time is easy and stylish; truly a positive fashion statement for the fuller figure. Lauren Vidal, in contrast, is a little theatrical, uncompromising and untethered. This
very popular collection has something of interest for everyone each season.
D’Exterior is chic and fab! Sexy occasional dresses with the sweetest toppings in knits hang alongside their preppy little every day separates like bag of sweeties and very grown-up yummy they are too!
Et Dieu Créa La Femme, our new outerwear collection from France, sits along side well here and is a funky wee collection.
Prêt à Porter is as strong and reliable as ever; a good working wardrobe in wholesome washable fabrics and at competitive prices.
The coats and parkas from Schneiders this Spring are already disappearing fast and so if this is a coat and/ or an anorak year, don’t delay. They are beautiful!
Ally Capellino, designer of modern British classics for over 25 years, returns again with a collection of bags designed for simplicity and longevity. These are intelligent and understated pieces and suit people from all walks of life.
BjØrg Jewellery, a fresh and witty range of Norwegian “rocks”, and several other interesting accessory ranges besides, put icing on the cake.
The Spring Collections are now in.
Kind personal service is provided and, certainly, if you have any rogue pieces in your wardrobe that need matching up, please feel free to bring them along with you when you come.
Browsers are very welcome.
