Bolton Parish Church

There has been a church on this site since before 1244. The present building dates from 1809 and remains structurally unchanged since that time. The architect was probably Archibald Elliot. The interior is plain and unspoiled, complete with carpenters Gothic pulpit, and gallery on clustered iron posts. Robert Burnss mother, brother and sisters are buried in the churchyard. Graveguard and other items dating from the time of the Resurrection Men displayed in the porch. Linked with Saltoun, Humbie and Yester. B6368 from Haddington.
