Bathgate is an industrial town in West Lothian.

Situated 18 miles south-west of Edinburgh and Glasgow, Bathgate was founded in 1661 and was the site of the world's first oil refinery. The 20th century saw the the growth of motor manufacturing and engineering. You can learn about Bathgate's heritage at the Bennie Museum.
