The Three Chimneys - Getting There
Getting there from the Information Centre
From Dunvegan TIC turn right through village past the Post Office. Take first right into Mill Road and pass entrance to Kinloch Campsite on right. At next T-junction turn right on to B884 to Glendale. Colbost is 3 miles from junction.
From TIC in Portree, take A850 to Dunvegan. Drive into village and turn left at junction opposite Dunvegan Hotel. Turn first right after Post Office and follow instructions as above.
From TIC in Kyle on mainland, cross the Skye Bridge (toll-free) and take main A87 through Broadford to junction at Sligachan Hotel. Turn left on to A863 and follow signs to Dunvegan. On the outskirts of Dunvegan turn left on to B884 to Glendale. Fire Station is on the left. Continue on this road to Colbost. N.B. Road turns sharply to right at junction for Orbost.
Getting There by Car

Getting There by Railway
The nearest train station is at Kyle of Lochalsh. Journeys to Kyle can be made from Inverness Station. Inverness can be reached by train from main stations throughout the UK, including Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Onward journey from Kyle Station is by car, hire car or public bus service to Portree.
Trains also run Fort William From Glasgow and onwards to Mallaig. Onward journey from Mallaig is by ferry to Armadale by car, hire car, or public bus service to Broadford or Portree.
Public Bus service to Dunvegan is not frequent. Bus service to Colbost is very infrequent.
Getting there by Aeroplane
From Inverness Airport. Car Hire available from the airport. The car journey takes between two and three hours to Colbost, via Loch Ness or Achnasheen and the Skye Bridge.
Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports are approximately 250 miles away by road - a five/six hour drive.
Getting There by Ferry
Ferries run from Mallaig to Armadale in the south of the Isle of Skye. Good service during summer months, although advance booking advisable. Service very limited throughout the winter from October until April or May. Route via Skye Bridge is quicker and more direct.
The ferry connecting the Isle of Skye and the Outer Hebridean islands of Uist and Harris sails in and out of Uig. The journey from Uig to Colbost takes approximately 50 minutes.
From Easter until the end of October there is a small, community-run ferry connecting Glenelg on the mainland with Kylerhea on Skye. This route is particularly scenic both ways. Kylerhea is approximately one hour's drive from Colbost.
